The things every buyer asks — and a few they should. Anything missing? Email us and we'll answer the same day.

How do I get a price?

Leisure Craft products are configured to order — size, heater, and options all change the number — so we quote each build individually. Note that sauna prices never include the heater or accessories (that's true from any dealer), which is why we quote the complete package: sauna, heater, accessories, and delivery in one number. Use the quote form (or email us) with the model you're interested in and your ZIP code, and we'll reply within one business day.

What does shipping cost?

Less than you'd think. Freight on saunas and other large items is free anywhere in the lower 48 — the only shipping charge is the freight carriers' flat residential drop-ship fee: $320 for a sauna, cold plunge, or hot tub, and just $120 for an outdoor shower. No zone pricing, no fuel surprises. And there are no import duties or customs charges on saunas, cold plunges, or hot tubs — cross-border handling is taken care of.

What happens on delivery day?

Your order arrives by appointment on a freight truck — usually a full-size 18-wheeler, so we'll confirm your street can accommodate one. The carrier delivers curbside to the end of your driveway (drivers won't back in), and unloading is the owner's side of the deal: crates 84 inches and under come down on the truck's liftgate, while longer crates — they range from 6 to 14 feet and 800 to 1,600 lbs — need a forklift or tractor with fork extensions, a trailer pickup at the local freight terminal, or a solid crew of helpers. We confirm your offload plan at quote time so delivery day is boring in the best possible way, and if equipment truly isn't an option, a tilt-deck truck delivery can be arranged as a last resort for $1,250. For full details, download the manufacturer's official drop-ship information sheet.

Anything else I should know about scheduling delivery?

Two things protect your wallet. First, respond promptly when the freight carrier calls to book your delivery window — once your crate reaches the local terminal, delays can accrue carrier storage fees of $35 per day. Second, if you need to change the delivery address, do it before your order leaves the factory (free); after it ships, the carriers charge $350 for a mid-route address change. Tell us early and we'll handle both smoothly.

Can I assemble it myself?

Most customers do. Saunas arrive as pre-cut, pre-fitted kits — barrel staves, wall sections, bands, and hardware — with detailed instructions. Two people and a free day handle most models; we're on call throughout, and we can help you find local installers if you'd rather watch.

Electric or wood-burning heater — which should I choose?

Electric heaters (Harvia, HUUM, Homecraft, Sauna360) offer push-button convenience and precise control; most require a dedicated 240V circuit installed by an electrician. Wood-burning stoves (Timberglow, Narvi, HUUM) need no electricity at all and bring the classic crackle-and-ritual experience — ideal off-grid. Every heater and chiller we sell is UL-listed or carries the proper North American certification — something your electrician and permit office will ask about. One tip: order your heater together with your sauna. Bundled orders cross the border duty-free, while heater-only or accessory-only orders can attract import tariffs.

What is Eastern White Cedar, and why does it matter?

It's the wood this collection is built from — light in colour, naturally rot- and insect-resistant, and a superb insulator. It's harvested in Canada near the Dundalk LeisureCraft workshop in Ontario, which keeps quality high and lead times honest. Left alone it weathers to silver; stained, it keeps its warm honey tone.

What maintenance does a cedar sauna need?

Very little: tighten the stainless bands occasionally in the first season as the wood settles, keep vents clear, use towels on the benches, and air it out after sessions. The interior stays untreated (or can be finished with Livos Meldos sauna oil); the exterior can be stained or left to silver naturally.

What if something arrives damaged — and can I return it?

These are built-to-order products, so we don't accept returns. Instead, anything damaged in shipping is replaced free of charge — we file the claim together with the manufacturer, and replacement shipments are prioritized ahead of regular production. If your crate shows any damage on arrival: accept the delivery, photograph everything, and write "crate arrived damaged — possible hidden damage" on the driver's Bill of Lading before signing, then contact us immediately — that one note makes the free-replacement process effortless. One related point: orders can be adjusted shortly after they're placed, but configurations lock once your build is packaged, so we confirm every detail with you in writing before we order.

What warranty comes with these products?

Every Canadian Timber product carries Dundalk LeisureCraft's 5-year limited residential warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Heaters and chillers carry their own manufacturer warranties (typically 1–5 years depending on brand), and we handle any claim for you — one email to us, and we take it from there.

How long until my sauna arrives?

Everything is built to order in Ontario, so lead times typically run 2–8 weeks depending on the model, the production schedule, and the time of year — plus freight transit. Ask when you request your quote and we'll give you the current, honest number for your specific model.

Do I need a permit or special site prep?

Site prep is simple: a level base of pavers, gravel, or deck (we'll confirm load capacity for decks and rooftops). Permit rules vary by town — small outbuildings often fall under permit thresholds, but check locally; we can provide spec sheets and drawings to make that conversation easy.

How do the cold plunges stay cold?

Three ways, depending on the model: fill-and-ice (the Baltic), pairing with a standalone chiller such as Coldture or Penguin (the Polar), or an integrated chiller cabinet that holds your set temperature automatically (the Flow). We'll match the approach to your climate and routine.
